2021.08.24 07:53 NoWave5203Where are they now? (Jason Hoppy Edition)

This may seem like an extremely late post, however, I’m a recent housewives convert/stan in the last year or so. I have just recently finished watching Bethenny Gets Married/Bethenny Ever After whilst also watching RHONY alongside. For the record - I absolutely despise Jason Hoppy and have read up on all the shitty things he did to B after their separation/divorce and honestly by season 3 on BEA I absolutely hated his guts… however I am somewhat of a curious individual and I do wonder what his life has been life post Bethenny and their (very recent) divorce. I’m intrigued - does he still share custody with Bryn? Has he dated since? (I hope anyone would have sense to stay far far away) and generally what does he do with himself these days??? I guess morbid curiosity gets the better of me and part of me wants to know he is suffering to some extent after all the awful stuff he put B through. I only seem to find court notes/articles on the recent end of their divorce. Anecdotes and thoughts welcome!

  • Porsha Williams says she’s ‘been’ single (Page Six) 'Porsha Williams is on the prowl. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, 39, and her on-again-off-again fiancé Dennis McKinley have split again. McKinley commented that he was “SINGLE ASFK” on a now-deleted Instagram story, while Williams commented on an Instagram post that she has “been single.” McKinley first proposed to Williams in October 2018 with a 13-carat ring and they welcomed their daughter in March of that year. But they never made it down the aisle, as they split eight months later following a cheating scandal. They eventually got back together, but their reconciliation didn’t last and their relationship problems were a storyline on the Bravo show.'
  • Stripper Denies Allegations Of Sexual Activity With Any Real Housewives Of Atlanta At Cynthia Bailey’s Bachelorette Party (Reality Tea) 'In an Instagram post, Michael Bolwaire, aka Bolo the Entertainer, aka “not just A stripper, THE stripper”, wants to set the record straight. He flat out denies anything happened. Michael says, “I’ve built an entire brand on professionalism and it doesn’t stop here. The rumors and allegations going around right now are straight bullshit. Although I’m flattered to be in the same conversation with these beautiful women, nothing happened,” Michael shared. He also said that his followers, fans, and supporters from over the years can attest to the fact that he is nothing but professional. And if you require further statements of denial from this gentleman, he pretty much sealed the deal with, “I don’t need any unnecessary mileage on my dick.”

  • RHOP's Karen Huger Explains Her ‘Press Charges’ Comments To Candiace (bossip.com) 'The Grande Dame shared on Twitter that she’s “not a fighter” so SHE, Karen Huger, would’ve taken action immediately. ” I would call for help 911,” said Karen. 'If it were ME, which it was NOT because I am not a fighter and when there IS conflict, I look for solutions and am known to take a time out- I would hope never to be in that situation. But IF by some miracle of miracles it did happen to me, I would call for help.' She later expounded on her words on The Bravo Aftershow and told producers that she was trying to be supportive of both ladies, but if she were Candiace, the police and ambulance would have to “pick her up off the floor.” “I wasn’t going to choose one friend over the other, that was clear out of the gate for me,” said Karen. “Whatever you all needed I was going to provide for either one or both of them and I respect her as a grown woman. She [Candiace] asked me what would I have done if it were me and I answered her.” “Now see, here’s the caveat,” she also added. “I would have pressed charges at the fight, I’m not Candiace but if I were Candiace, which I am not—if I were in a fight y’all would know I would be innocent. And so 9-1-1, right there, okay?! Oh no, I wouldn’t have moved! My wig would have been on the floor, stayed on the floor with my body. And the cops and the ambulance would remove me, I’d be in shock!”
  • ‘RHOBH’ Bravo Executive Reveals Why Production Broke the 4th Wall This Season (cheatsheet/Bravo's Daily Dish) 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills made the unprecedented move of breaking the fourth wall this season. Erica Forstadt, Vice President, Current Production at Bravo, explained exactly why season 10 was shot this way. “The only way to tell a story is to tell it’s truth,” Forstadt told Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “And I think we had no choice but to break the fourth wall this season with what was happening with Denise [Richards] and the other women. It was the only way to tell an honest and true narrative.” Forstadt said production had no choice but to allow certain moments that would normally be cut to flow with the season. “And that really came from the production company,” she said. “They pitched it to us. They said, ‘This is how we’d like to tell the story.’ And both Kathleen and I, who also oversees the show, agreed.” “I think [breaking the fourth wall] is incredibly important,” she continued. “As a fan of the Housewives, and I’ve watched so many different seasons of shows. And even Beverly Hills, and this was before I worked on it, there would be times where there’d be conversations between, let’s say Lisa Vanderpump and somebody else.” 'And they were kind of talking in code,” she said. “As a viewer, I was always trying to figure out what they were talking about. And sometimes I just didn’t understand. If you remember the season where Lisa and Kyle [Richards] and [Lisa] Rinna … it was the year of Munchausen. ‘You brought me out and you wanted me to say it.’ I remember watching it and saying, ‘But what really happened? Because I don’t really understand what they’re talking about.'” “I think it’s still enjoyable,” she said. “And I still loved watching it as a viewer. But with this season, no way we could tell the story without doing what we did.” Forstadt said she learned later in the evening after Glanville told Teddi Mellencamp and Richards she hooked up with Denise Richards. “The showrunner and I talk all the time,” she remarked. “So that night I believe he texted me the information and I immediately called him. That was shocking.” She also addressed the timing of when Glanville told Mellencamp and Richards and the trip to Rome. Some fans wondered if the conversation between Glanville, Richards, and Mellencamp was staged too. “I would like to put that rumor to rest,” Forstadt said. “And say that that was actually shot exactly when it was shot. It was shot before they went to Rome.” “So the reaction of Teddi and Kyle in that moment,” she added. “And not knowing what to do, because they were going to be seeing Denise shortly, it was completely real.”

  • 'RHOBH' Lisa Vanderpump's Husband Sued For $80,000 Over Alleged Villa Blanca Unpaid Rent (The Blast) 'According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Golden Triangle Building LLC is suing Blanca Investments LLC and Kenneth Todd. The plaintiffs accuse the defendants of breach of lease and breach of guaranty and declaratory relief. The suit says the defendants signed a lease with them in 2009 to open Villa Blanca. The plaintiff says “Defendants are required during the Lease to pay Base Rent and Additional Rent.” Further, “Notwithstanding the requirements of the Lease, Tenants failed and refused to make all the payments of Rent due under the lease. The lease was not terminated …. and Plaintiff does not intend to terminate the Lease.” The landlord accuses the defendants of failing to comply with applicable Covid-19 ordinances such as “they have no protections in connection with the amounts due and owing.” The suit says Ken claims to have paid a $40,000 security deposit but they have no record of it. The suit says the defendants claim to have terminated the lease agreement themselves. The landlord says they had no right to terminate the lease and believes it’s still active. The suit is demanding the Villa Blanca defendants pay a total of $80.236.86 for October’s rent. They are seeking an additional $80,236.86 in additional damages.'
  • An RHOC Producer Shares the 'Touching' Thing Shannon Did for Him Amid Coronavirus (bravotv.com) 'While discussing what it's like to be a part of the show, one of Shannon's 'favorite producers,' Bobby, recalled the memorable thing Shannon did for him and the rest of the crew on the the day production shut down due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 'You were strangely calm, I think, for all of the stuff that was going on. Here we are coming into your home,' he said. 'Set up on your table, you had all of these supplements, all these things for all the crew. It was just a really touching moment.' According to Bobby, it was far from the first time Shannon made taking care of the crew a top priority. 'One of my first times working with Shannon, I remember that you just kept looking at the crew. We were in a restaurant, you kept looking at us like, 'Aren't you hungry? Aren't you hungry? It's getting late,' he recalled before revealing what mouth-watering food she bought for the team because, as Bobby explained, 'It was late and, yes, we were hungry.' Noting that she loves 'the sense of family' that the RHOC cast and crew has, Shannon explained, 'Everybody looks after each other and, you know, we go through things together.'
  • For anyone who missed it yesterday: Bethenny Frankel splits from boyfriend Paul Bernon after two years together (Page Six) 'Bethenny Frankel and boyfriend Paul Bernon have called it quits after two years of dating, Page Six has exclusively learned. “They broke up a couple of weeks [ago], and are saying it’s because of distance, but you know Bethenny,” a source told us. The couple met in 2018 after Frankel’s on-and-off boyfriend, Dennis Shields, died. “I remember telling Tinsley [Mortimer], ‘I really like him,’ ” Frankel said of Bernon during her final “Real Housewives of New York City” reunion (she left the Bravo show in 2019). “And I felt like an idiot, because I was saying I felt like it could be the one or something. I was really into him and we went out a couple of times. And I just wasn’t really ready … I wanted someone to give me a guaranteed, ‘This is the guy’ because I didn’t want to get hurt.” Frankel and Bernon, who lives in Boston, often posted selfies from their getaways and doted on each other in Instagram posts. “I like me better when I’m with you,” she captioned one selfie last year, referencing Lauv’s song “I Like Me Better.” He responded: “I’m good as long as you’re here with me.” The duo even celebrated #NationalCouplesDay in August. But they split just as they were to hit their two-year anniversary in September. Meanwhile, Frankel is still fighting to get divorced from her estranged husband, Jason Hoppy, after ending their relationship seven years ago. “I’m still married,” Frankel revealed to Andy Cohen when she appeared on his “Watch What Happens Live” show last month. Splits aside, the Skinnygirl mogul recently launched her new “Just B” podcast and it’s “going great,” according to another insider. “She is lining up really good guests, A-listers! She’s featured at the top of new business shows on Apple,” said the insider, who was mum on the split. Frankel previously hosted a daytime talk show, which lasted one season.'

2020.04.11 04:11 HiLittleDarlingBeau is a less extreme version of Jason Hoppy and other tidbits from SUP's episode with intuitive empath Jamie Stein.

Lara briefly covers Beau and Stassi's relationship in her latest podcast recap episode #91: The Essence of Tragedy with Jamie Stein. I'm not recapping the whole thing, but the Beau part is very interesting.
Jamie mentions what stuck out to him was Beau saying you can do whatever you want behind closed doors just don't do it in front of me (paraphrasing) and it was really revealing. Like, hey be as abusive as you want to Katie behind closed doors but in public try and look good.
https://preview.redd.it/7xh716tn81s41.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=45e50506448e0082b2eba0b9ec38640c1eccbe0a
Lara says she feels their relationship is really performative and they learned how to make it work and also create income together. She says Beau has completely upgraded his life because of Stassi. She believes the 'don't do it in front of me do it behind closed doors' is a representation of his relationship with Stassi.
https://preview.redd.it/qoy40mx881s41.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=12b90833e8632ff0ad4c5605530ebc5bcfab6e53
Jamie then says he feels like Beau is a less extreme version of Jason Hoppy, that he wears a 'nice guy mask' and it's a part he's playing 'Awww I'm the good guy. I'm the good guy who came in and is great for Stassi.' Underground superiority, arrogance, entitlement and someone who plays the role of the nice guy and is also somewhat emasculated because he's second fiddle to Stassi. He feels that type of underground entitlement can get really toxic. He believes his anger will burn brightly the deeper they get into their relationship.
Lara mentions she feels simmering resentment underneath his nice guy exterior that he wasn't able to achieve these things on his own. Now he has all of these things, but he doesn't get to call any of the shots. She mentions that there were a lot of people messaging her about some drama Stassi and Beau got into on her podcast over him getting a tv that was too big? (It's the Quarantine Q & A episode first few minutes of the pod if any of you want to listen to them recount the fight/argue.) She's the breadwinner and that isn't going to be good enough for him down the road.
Jamie gets a sense he's a mama's boy and grew up to be a man who thinks he has to be a 'good boy' hide his masculine energy/ more intense energy. He never thrived in his own life because of this, he didn't create his own fortune, hooked onto Stassi, but is still recreating this 'I'm the good boy' and that will ultimately build more resentment for everything he can't create for himself. He's stuck behind his own mask of being a good little boy.
They also touch on the power dynamics between Rand and Lala, and how Lala couldn't have dated someone more powerful because she would lose her power in the relationship.
It was a good episode.

2020.02.02 04:21 Ckc1972Bitch Sesh Live

Just got home from Bitch Sesh Live in NYC and it did not disappoint. Andy Cohen was a surprise guest and the crowd went wild! He looked amazing. I almost lost my mind! Jerry O'Connell was a scheduled guest, who did great reenactments. There were great 'boots on the ground' from one woman who had hooked up with Beau and another who had gone on a date with Jason Hoppy at some point. Shout out to another woman (Morris County represent) whose boyfriend is a local cop who had served Joe Giudice with papers. Great time was had by all. So glad I went!

2019.08.25 17:30 wbhipsterGetting closer to scary island

But in the mean time, my thoughts on S2 and S3 of RHONY:
Ramona - Ramona is a total whackadoodle but I weirdly like her. Her kindness towards Bethenny in the whole Bethenny/Jill drama was refreshing. - Mario is utter trash and it makes me sad they are (currently in S3) renewing their vows because I know how it ends and I think he’s been trash since S1.
Bethenny - It’s pretty cool to watch her rise in fame. - I used to watch Bethenny Ever After and of course I know how her relationship with Jason Hoppy goes down so I def find it sad to watch it in its happiness and glory, but it’s still pretty cool to watch Bethenny get her career and man and kid. - I think Bethenny serves as the voice of what we all want to say and think and I hella appreciate that.
Alex - Alex and Simon have been my weirdo try hard cringe couple since S1 and I love them. - I’m enjoying the relationship between Alex and Bethenny. I think Alex is a genuine person and I’m sad to know I only have one more season with her because she’s very grounding compared to the other loons. - Her Jill confrontations are absolute cringe and I’m here for them. - Their kitchen is great but that red room is absolute oof.
Luann - Oh my, where to begin. I love her laundry list of insane wishes for her “pied a terre” in the city. - Her signing is like nails on a chalkboard and I’m so into the producer who has to wear sunglasses to successfully lie to her face that she has talent. - Her being Jill’s sidekick is gross and it makes you realize she’s not the savvy, “classy” person she claims to be. - The dude she “dates” in S3 is ew and looks like he should be taking tigers in Vegas.
Kelly - Stahp, stahp, staaahhhhpppp - Fucking Max - I honestly can’t stand Kelly and I can’t wait for Scary Island. I hate how she acts like she’s different than all of them and better when she’s actually worse. - Her confrontation in s2 with Bethenny was beautiful and I loved every ridiculous second. If she was comparing mental instability she’s definitely up there compared to down there Bethenny.
Sonja - Sad Sonja is so boring and so insecure. Please tell me she gets better.
And finally...
Jill Fucking Zarin - I loved Jill in S1 and most of S2 so S3 has been a real wake up call to what a horrible person she can be. The nastiness towards Bethenny who has tried to talk it out with her is awful. - Baaaahhhhhbbbby being sick is sad but Jill milling it for sympathy is gross. The way she uses it against Bethenny bothered me immensely. - Man did Ramona call it about Jill loving an underdog. It really makes you realize how she uses people to almost elevate herself.
That is all. I can’t wait to get to Scary Island.

2019.02.22 02:29 DanPanderson18Rewatching NY for the first time in a long time

Holy smokes!
I forgot how often Jill referred to herself as a 'socialite' or one of 'Manhattan's elite.'
I forgot how much Simon and Alex just STANK of desperation and how pretentious they were about their kids.
I really love Bobby and it's so sad that he's dead now.
Ramona seems semi-normal in the beginning but GOD Mario is a douche.
LuAnn pre-singing, pre-divorce, and pre-Tom is nothing like current LuAnn.
I wish Sonja's crazy ass was here.
Bethenny is so skinny and watching her dating bald Jason before Jason Hoppy is weird and I don't even like pets but seeing her with cookie makes me sad because we know cookie dies.
Damn, Bethenny also came out of the gate being hella open about her shitty parents and I forgot she has always been so blunt and I love for her one liners.

I originally posted this to /dndnext, and had it suggested I post this here too. If it needs reworking before submission here, I'll be happy to do that at a later date.

Preface

The following is intended not as an all-encompassing guide to the creation and implementation of fantasy beverages in your campaign. I hope only to provide you with some helpful tips and stimulate the creative process.
In a recent campaign arc I ran for my D&D group, I had the opportunity to include a magic item in my game; a drinking horn that filled with a random drink (almost) every time it was brought to the wielder's lips. This of course meant that I had to come up with a menu of drinks the horn could produce. I decided to write up my methodology for coming up with the drink listing as I figure it could help any DM's out there with designing an immersive tavern experience.
Here's the d20 table I devised for it;
Drink!

8Wizard's Quaff18Chicha
9Brackish Dishwater19Neverwinter Black Icewine

The beverages (and 'beverages') listed above include a variety of items inspired by the Forgotten Realms Wiki pages (e.g. Wizard's Quaff, Neverwinter black icewine), which is an excellent source for alcoholic beverages and intoxicating substances that already exist within the Forgotten Realms lore. I can also recommend checking out some Wikipedia category page listings for more inspiration; Distilled drinks, Mixed Drinks, Fermented Drinks.
When I'm a player, I like to order off-menu and see what the DM will let me get away with. I'm the guy at the bar ordering a peach schnapps when everybody else is happy taking the cheapest drinking ale.
Have fun with it too! I included Mayonnaise(?) on my list, inspired by the Alchemy Jug. Then I decided to make pretty much all of the 1 - 10 rolls undesirable drink choices because I was having too much fun with it. Soup is DM's pick. Brackish Dishwater is exactly what it sounds like. Check out the FR Wiki page for Wizard's Quaff if you want some real backstory with your beer; from the Whistling Wizard inn:
The beer that came with the price of a room was called the Wizard's Quaff and was fairly weak, with a flavor that would charitably be called an acquired taste.
I was somewhat enchanted by the idea of Wizard's Quaff when I first skimmed through its entry on the FR Wiki, as I pictured it as some kind of awful beer that college wizards brewed. Not sure why I thought that but all the same, reading through the backstory of the Whistling Wizard made me realise how much rich lore you can impart just by giving your player a watered down beer.Free dating sites in norway without payment for women
Liquid Courage and Liquid Ghosts are both drinks I came up with, and both should be left up to your own interpretation of what they could be! But, to give you some suggestions; I put Liquid Courage in first intending a strong whisky that burns down the throat, leaving the imbiber watery-eyed and choking, but with a radiating warmth in their chest that strengthens the nerves and fills them with vim and vigour. Drinking Liquid Ghosts is an entirely unpleasant sensation akin to drinking a thick, cold vapour. It leaves you breathless and reeling, dizzied by the brief but horrid sensation of hearing dozens of tortured ethereal voices, experiencing the memories of their final moments, and ultimately trying not to succumb to the waves of nausea for fear of reliving that unpleasant sensation in reverse.
I also drew from the Pathfinder wiki page for Alcoholic Beverages. Their description of Bufo is my favourite, and whoever came up with the name (probably Jason Bulmahn) is my personal hero;
This disgusting concoction is made by adding toxin from a poisonous toad or frog to beer. The poison is inserted in different ways, such as soaking the amphibian in the ale, soaking its eggs in the ale or milking the poison from the amphibian and then mixing it in. Bufo is not consumed in civilized societies, but goblins, boggards and other primitive humanoids lap it up, sometimes eating the amphibian as a bonus at the end of their drink.
'Bufo' is also apparently a genus of toads that produce the psychoactive toxin bufotenin. This kicks the door wide open for me in terms of naming beverages from the scientific names of their constituent items. Referring back to the 'Fermented Drinks' Wikipedia page is all I need to do to come up with a drink called 'Xylinum', a fermented tea made through the culturing of bacteria and yeast. This drink is sold by herbalists in major cities as a health-promoting beverage, despite it having no noticeable impact on the consumer's health. Its alcoholic content is increased with fermentation, but over-fermenting results in a highly bitter vinegar taste. It's popular among some of the upper-class, particularly younger humans of college age, and yes this is just kombucha.

Planning a Menu

These are all good sources to draw on for creating a colourful beverage, but they might not provide an ideal first-step for your creative process. If you're looking for a solid canvas upon which to create your immersive tavern experience, look no further than Volo's Rating System. Retooled to apply to a specific establishment (and for Unicode) you can build up from a ratings-scale of the following criteria:
CategorySymbolRating
Level of comfortUsed to rate the overall quality of an establishment, without taking in to account pricing. Quality includes the comfort of the accomodation, quality of decor, service provided, range of food options and general enjoyment of stay. One (✓) out of five indicates an establishment that should be avoided by the discerning traveller, while five (✓✓✓✓✓) our of five indicates the establishment provides the best money can buy.
Quality of food and beverage🍻This will be the go-to rating for fine food connoisseurs and parties with a picky palette. An establishment that offers only their home-brewed, on-tap swill to drink and whatever the owner has brought in from the hunt to eat would rate low on the scale (🍻). On the other hand, an establishment that offered a wide variety of food and beverage options, but only sourced the worst quality items, may also land a lower rating (🍻🍻). Your standard tavern will land an average rating (🍻🍻🍻), while the those of a discerning taste will seek out establishments that offer an exotic and unique experience (🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻), or simply an excellent selection. This does not take in to account cost.
Overall expense💰A scale of least (💰) to most (💰💰💰💰💰) expense paid on goods and services at the rated establishment, as compared to the average of the city or region in which it is located. While a low score is ideal for those looking to save on coin, this usually comes hand-in-glove with a lower level of comfort and quality, or a higher risk to personal health.
Reputation & RiskA rating that confers a judge of relative safety for those purchasing goods, seeking services or looking to stay at the relevant business. A low rating (☠) should be expected for most inner-city businesses. A higher rating (☠☠☠) may apply if the business in question deals in untoward products or has tacit connections with organised crime. Highest ratings (☠☠☠☠☠) should only apply under circumstances that the mortality rate within the establishment or its immediate surrounding region significantly exceeds the national average, and death is a common occurrence. There are many inns and taverns throughout the world of the Forgotten Realms this rating probably should apply to. Depending on the circumstances you may want to provide this rating twice, the second time with a caveat applying to a specifically discriminated race, class or group.
Volothampdoesnottakeresponsibilityforthethoughtsandopinionsexpressedbytheseratings,noranydamageorinjuriescausedtopersonsorbelongingsbasedontheseratings.
So we have our scaling in place. Let's use it to structure the barebones of our drinking establishment;

Reputation and Risk☠☠☠
Looking at this we can immediately gauge the kind of place we're going for. The establishment is comfortable enough but doesn't place the consumer in the lap of luxury, as is evident by the low expenses paid and the relatively high danger of either the place or the area it is in. The selling point here is the food and beverages - something about this place makes it worth the risk to visit. In my mind I can picture the setting; I want a unique inn, no accomodation to offer but a genuine tavern bar experience. The owner makes an ale that is so good, word of it has spread despite it being an on-tap, unnamed beer. My go-to extravagant character is, in this narrative, playing the part of the food critique. 'Fan Dango' is the name my brother came up with for his player character when I DM'd for him years ago, and to this day it has brought me untold joy imagining Fan Dango, a retired Bard, now an entrepreneur using the vast riches he has accumulated to grow the culture of the world around him.

The Sordid Oar

CategoryBartext
Level of Comfort✓✓✓The building exterior is old and in desperate need of renovating. It stands alone, precariously close to a stony bluff overlooking the coastline north of Waterdeep. A somewhat steep cliff face of loose shale spotted with trails of broken stone that tumble down toward the beach below advertises the obvious need of a safety railing. While the tavern itself offers little in regards to overnight accomodation, it is open until late and offers discounts to those staying at Macey's Lodge, a quaint inn of fine repute only a short walk south along the bluff. The interior betrays the unkempt appearance of the exterior; the current owner, a decidedly lovely woman by the name of Helena, keeps The Sordid Oar shipshape (if you'll pardon the pun). The open-plan interior design sports a nautical theme, with a full ship mast rising up in to the roof. Indeed, the whole building was apparently built from the wreckage of a tall ship that ran aground on the beach below a decade prior. Helena and Macey have done an admirable job of turning this featureless cliff face in to a raucous hub of entertainment for sea-fairing folk making port before reaching Waterdeep, making this inn a hotspot for sailors and merchants.
Quality of food and beverage🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻Now, though, we get to the meat of the matter, and the real reason for my visit and review. Word reached my ears of a barleywine brewed locally and only sold here at The Sordid Oar. The description was of its superb balance of earthy hoppiness and smoky caramel overtures, but I was already sold by the way his eyes glazed over as he reminisced. Needless to say dear reader I had paid my safe passage back to Waterdeep by the day's end, and a mere two days later I found myself sitting nervously in a booth, alone in the tavern except for its proprietor. It took only a minute of conversation before she had me at ease, and another five before it felt like I was talking to a childhood friend. Though she noted it was unusual for her to be serving guests this early in the day, Helena must possess some arcane control over breakfast foods, because she quickly procured a plate of devilled eggs, a heaping of bacon drizzled with a mouthwatering smoky glaze, and loaves of toasted bread that would have alone been worth the visit. It was with a nervous excitement that I put forth the request for the barleywine I had heard of, and with a knowing smile that she silently obliged. I was at first disappointed to see the small glass goblet she placed before me, but this was immediately abated by the curious way the brewmaster watched me bring the ale to my lips, mimicking my movements ever so slightly as I raised the drink and tilted back to quaff. Dear reader, oh dear reader - but for an eternity in that moment I could have hoped to live. Save for the sound of the waves crystallised in my mind and the smell of sea-salt, all other senses gave way to a decadent miasma of rich, smooth caramel, suitably underwhelming malt, and a surprisingly autumnal blend of smoke and wheat. It left the palette with a taste of smoke, like a strong bourbon, and in doing so cast me from my Elysium and back in to the realms of mortals. Needless to say I spent many futile hours interrogating Helena for her method, for a trading contract and ultimately for just a name, to which she gave pause and admitted it had none. 'Well, what am I to tell my readers to buy?' I implored. She sat silently as I showered her in a deluge of clichéd names. She stood, gathering up the plates and glass. 'Sailor's Respite', she concluded. 'Would you like another?'
Overall Expense💰💰Well dear reader, were it not for the voracity with which I indulged that day, I would have been pleasantly surprised by how little the service cost. Unfortunately as the morning waned in to an afternoon of heavy drinking I soon found evening upon me, and the company with which I now shared had become downright exorbitant in their libations. Always fond of the company but never one to shout drinks willingly (a trait for which my critics are quick to call me 'cheap' and 'tight-pursed' over), I sought to settle my tab and make my leave. Sadly though, my new-found friends - a rather enthusiastic pack of 'freelance merchant enterprisers' (read: pirates) fresh off the ports made it clear that my night was far from over. To the families of 'Ratpack', 'Big Muscle', Johnny 'The Whip' Mahoney, the man referred to as 'Teeth', and their entourage of criminal lackeys, I send my deepest sympathies. Upon my lawyers strict instruction I cannot delve in to the details of what occurred that night in the cave off the coast; needless to say, should the families of the departed seek their mortal remains, they best bring munitions suitable for felling a particularly vicious Sea Hag.
Reputation and Risk☠☠☠Helena my dear if you happen to have picked up the Waterdeep News to read this edition of 'Fan Dango's Fine Dining', please do not think less of me for positing that your guests span the moral spectrum and that my readers should enter your most wonderful of taverns only if they understand they may be placing themselves in the most serious mortal peril. At one point I found myself questioning if the kind-hearted octogenarian I was in conversation with was trying to set me up with their granddaughter or commit identity fraud. 3 out of 5 for general risk - please, Helena, it's a matter of safety. Don't let this impact our possible business negotiations; say the word and I'll have the Sailor's Respite on tap in every bar, inn and tavern along the Sword Coast.

Why is a tavern so important?

Why do our adventures oh-so often begin in a tavern? There's many reasons that a certain level of drinking culture seems to come part and parcel with Dungeons & Dragons. In a fantasy medieval setting the players will inevitably look to see how far they can push the limits of the game, and a raucous pub atmosphere might serve as the ideal environment to kick off a brawl. Taverns and inns also serve as an important mecca for socialising in a world without the internet and instant messaging, without social media and where your average person probably doesn't have access to the wonders of magic that permeate the realm. When you're just trying to get by in a world where your life is in constant peril, it's easy to understand why taking the edge off with a drink at the end of the day is such a popular pass time. Because these establishments tend to act as the epicentre of communal merriment, they also tend to hold host to many important conversations, dealings, agreements and bargains. How many quests have begun in a tavern? How many tacit dealings with unscrupulous individuals?
It's for this reason that I believe your tavern needs to be more than just 'dingy', feature more than just a couple of your average drunkards eyeing you suspiciously upon your arrival if you want your environment to be immersive. I hope this helps you get creative with one of your most well-used environments and, more than anything else, I hope this can help you create a memorable D&D experience with your friends.

Includes liner notes by Jay Kay. Jamiroquai's debut brings together a utopian worldview, funky '70s R&B influences and the liberated sensibility of England's burgeoning acid-jazz movement. The band, led by singer Jason 'Jay' Kay, rides a funky groove while spreading a message of peace, love and environmental conscientiousness. The results of this meeting of heart and head range from Brazilian-flavored instrumentals like 'Music Of The Mind' to to songs like 'If I Like It, I Do It,' on which yesterday's jazzy soul is spun around on today's hip-hoppy turntables. Jamiroquai also flexes its improvisational muscle on two songs that clock in at over eight minutes. On 'Blow Your Mind,' Kay scats like George Benson, and the band captures the funky flow of 'Summer Madness'-era Kool & The Gang. 'Revolution 1993' is a 10-minute vamp on self-determination, featuring an Afro-Caribbean rhythm, Herbie Mann-inspired flute, a raging Moog synthesizer and the darting strings of the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra. Personnel: Jay Kay (vocals); Glenn Nightingale, Gavin Dodds, Simon Bartholomew (guitar); Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra (strings); Mike Smith, Gary Barnacie (flute, saxophone); Wallis Buchanan (didjeridoo); John Thirkell (trumpet); Richard Edwards (trombone); Toby Smith (keyboards); Stuart Zender, Andrew Levy (bass); Nick Van Gelder (drums); Kofi Kari Kari, Maurizio (percussion); D.J. Zire (DJ); Linda Lewis, Vanessa Simon (background vocals).
Jamiroquai includes: Jay (vocals); Toby Smith (keyboards); Wallis (vibraphone); Stuart Zender (bass); Derrick McKenzie (drums). Following up a debut, EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH, that bubbled over with soul, funk and outrageous acid-jazz rhythms, RETURN OF THE SPACE COWBOY brings the tempo down a notch, without losing any of its funky musical edge (or any of its idealistic lyrical flow). Singer Jason 'Jay' Kay's vocals maintain the smooth manner of Stevie Wonder and Al Green, as demonstrated on 'Stillness In Time,' which evokes the Brazilian grooves of Antonio Carlos Jobim, and on the quiet-storm-like title track. Wallis Buchanan's didgeridoo, a Jamiroquai trademark, returns particularly strongly on 'Journey To Arnhemland,' which sounds like the theme from an Aboriginal blaxploitation flick. Lest this become a totally low-key affair, a handful of tracks guarantee Jamiroquai isn't faking the funk. 'The Kids' opens up the band's sound with greasy wah-wah guitar, punchy horns and a bouncy Moog syunthesizer. Live and studio versions of 'Light Years' mix in equal amounts Parliament-Funkadelic and Earth, Wind & Fire, guaranteeing hours of head-bopping and toe-tapping.
Track 13, 'Do You Know Where You're Coming From,' is listed on the album packaging only as 'Bonus Track.' TRAVELLING WITHOUT MOVING was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Pop Album. 'Virtual Insanity' won the 1998 Grammy for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. Jamiroquai: Jay Kay (vocals); Simon Katz (guitar); Toby Smith (keyboards); Stuart Zender (bass); Derrick McKenzie (drums); Wallis Buchanan (percussion). Additional personnel includes: Simon Hale (conductor, arranger); M-Beat (arranger).

Free Dating Sites In Norway Without Payment

US Weekly (don't ask)
Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy's divorce proceedings are moving in an ugly direction. During their custody court date April 19, 'Bethenny had her hair slicked back and this attitude: 'I'm going to take you for every penny,' a Hoppy source tells Hot Stuff. 'She was acting cocky.' A hurt Hoppy, 42, 'left hysterically crying,' says the source. Since their December split, Frankel, 41, has been doing her best to get under Hoppy's skin, the source adds, noting that she's refused to leave their $5 million NYC pad and had made it hard for the Skinnyguy founder to spend extra time with daughter Bryn, 3. Others close to Hoppy aren't surprised by her low blows. 'She still wears her ring to get public sympathy,' one insider says. 'She wants him to look bad.'
Finally an honest account of how women game the system in mainstream media. Frankly I'm impressed with US Weekly for their dauntless commitment to unbiased journalism. I guess this isn't a Gynocentric society after all. Except the names and genders in this article have been switched.
