With the 10th week of high school football in the books, we take a look at some of the top performances from across Central Mass.

Nathan Agyare-May, Burncoat

Agyare-May made a gem of a defensive play at a critical moment to help propel the Patriots past North, 31-12, and to their second straight victory. With the Polar Bears threatening to make it a one-score game, the 5-foot-9, 162-pound senior cornerback returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown to seal the deal.

Michael Bonsu, St. John’s

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound junior receiver/defensive back was dynamic on both sides of the ball in the Pioneers’ 37-13 setback to Central Catholic in the Division 1 quarterfinals. Bonsu caught five passes for a team-high 67 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown, and had an end-zone interception and an additional pass defensed.

Oscar Clark, Nipmuc

Clark got it done on the ground and through the air as the Warriors topped Abby Kelley, 35-0, for their third win in the past five games. The 5-foot-10, 155-pound junior quarterback rushed for 88 yards and two third-quarter touchdowns (5, 3 yards) on 10 carries and was 6-of-10 passing for 83 yards.

Liam Donagher, Grafton

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Donagher got in done in all three phases as the Gators remained undefeated with a 35-13 win over Bedford in the Division 4 quarterfinals. Donagher made a 42-yard touchdown reception, was 5 for 5 on extra points and came up with an end-zone interception. He’s got six TDs, 83 points and two picks on the season.

Collin Falconer, Northbridge

Falconer was all over the field as the Rams topped West Boylston, 42-17, in the Division 7 quarterfinals. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior running back/linebacker rushed for 165 yards, a touchdown (54 yards) and seven additional first downs on 11 carries and made eight tackles to up his team-high total to 69.

John Furno, Valley Tech

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound senior lineman was his typically dominant self on defense as the Beavers upset Stoneham, 28-14, in the Division 6 quarterfinals. Furno was in on eight tackles while helping pitch a second-half shutout. And, oh yeah, the starting right guard and sometimes fullback also rushed for his second touchdown of the season.

Owen Keenan, Assabet Valley

Keenan was a two-way standout as the Aztecs topped Bay Path, 28-14, in State Vocational Tournament playoff. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound junior quarterback rushed for 89 yards and two second-half touchdowns (1, 13) yards on 17 carries and came up with a fourth-quarter interception to clinch AV’s fourth straight win.

Angelo LaRose, South

It was a recording-setting performance for LaRose as the Colonels defeated Worcester Tech, 40-18. The 5-foot-9, 195-pound junior rushed for 444 yards on 33 carries and scored all 40 points while setting Central Mass. records for rushing yards in a game and a season (2,716), rushing touchdowns in a season (35) and total TDs in a season (37).

Zak Parmenter, Oxford

Parmenter made himself at home in the Palmer backfield as the Pirates posted a 16-13 victory in the Division 8 quarterfinals for their second postseason upset. The senior defensive tackle had three sacks to give him a Central Mass.-best 9½ on the season and 14½ in the past 15 games dating to last season.

Cody Shearer, Littleton

Shearer contributed in all three phases as the Tigers defeated Ayer-Shirley, 25-14, to halt a three-game slide. The versatile senior scored his eighth touchdown of the season on an 8-yard run, kicked a 32-yard field goal and two extra points, and had six tackles, an interception and a forced fumble on defense.

Nealon Stemple, Marlborough

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior had his second two-touchdown game of the fall as the Panthers upended Leominster, 26-7, to improve to 6-4 and clinch a winning season. Stemple rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns (3, 2 yards) on 21 carries. Defensively, the linebacker leads the team with 61½ tackles.

Calvin Tenney, Murdock

Tenney reached the end zone on offense and defense as the Blue Devils blanked Keefe Tech, 30-6, to halt a two-game skid. The junior rushed for 108 yards and, in the second quarter, a touchdown, and then returned an interception for a TD in the third quarter. He has 78 points on the season.

Tim Visbeek, Northbridge

The 5-foot-11, 150-pound senior made impactful plays on offense, defense and special teams as the Rams topped West Boylston, 42-13, in the Division 7 quarterfinals. Visbeek had a pair of 20-yard touchdown receptions, returned punts for 28 and 48 yards, and an interception and a tackle on fourth down.
